UV Camera.co.uk is the UK’s sole distributor for the
DayCor range of Ultra Violet Corona cameras, a highly
sensitive and reliable, non contact inspection tool for
a variety of predictive maintenance and condition
based monitoring applications. Specifically designed for
use in power transmission, substations and high voltage
applications, these cameras can also detect other
sources of UV including leakage from fluorescent lights,
tungsten halogen lamps, alcohol and brush fires. A
preventative maintenance inspection with the corona
camera can reveal mechanical failure points (emitting
corona discharge), carbonisation and degradation faults
and prevent faults like flashover and blackouts failure.
Invisible to the naked eye, Corona is electrical
discharge that occurs on transmission lines and
sub-station components, including insulators,
conductors, lines, cable terminations, bushings, and
transmission line surge arresters, and can indicate
faulty equipment. The DayCor range of UV cameras are
able to visualise corona in full
daylight without being affected by sun radiation.
